The Great Invocation

I want to share with you this meditation/prayer and how it works. First some background. This is a prayer channeled through Alice A. Bailey, given to her from Djwhal Khul, a Tibetan Master, in the 1930's.

I must admit when I started with the Great Invocation, I was irritated by some of the archaic and exclusionary language it contained. So, I worked up my own version :).

Since I have been doing my version and the original version, I have become more aware of the original intent of the Great Invocation. First, through John Berges, a colleague that we met during one of the Seven Ray conferences, we learned that there are significant numerological reasons for the exact wording of the Great Invocation. What he had researched made a lot of sense, but I still like my version :), and continue to use both. I have also run across a prayer that has the basic elements of the Great Invocation, but worked into a Native American style, by José Arguëlles. Here they all are, side by side so you can see and feel the differences

Now, why am I sharing this with you? I believe that because there are many people using this prayer all around the world we can effect change for the entire planet, maybe even the universe. What we are stating is that we are open to allow change - positive change in our minds and hearts, that we are open to learning about the "right use of will" and that we want to be a positive force in the world so that "evil" will be transformed...all good things, yes? We are also acknowledging that we cannot do this alone, that we are joining together through our power and through the power of Source and great Beings to make this happen.
